I was planning to take the kids to playgroup this morning, but between dirty nappies and K needing feeding we gave up on that plan. The group runs tomorrow too, so going to aim for that!
I let A pick the letter for today and we got T. S asked if tiger started with T, but as we did animals yesterday I suggested that T could be for tea (which is what we call dinner ‘Up North’). I’m going to let her help making tea later, but we made Tiffin altogether this morning too.
We bashed up kruidnoten biscuits, which we had left over from sintaklass.
We melted chocolate, butter and golden syrup and mixed it in with the nuts, fruit and biscuits.
We squashed it in the tin and let it cool. It’s just setting in the fridge now. The girls licked the bowl and covered themselves in chocolate! It wasn’t well timed as K was upset and wanting a feed, so I had to direct hand washing from under the baby!
- 250g biscuits
- 150g dark chocolate
- 150g milk chocolate
- 150g golden syrup
- 100g butter
- 175g dried fruit
- 75g flaked almonds
- Line 20cm square tin with cling film.
- Bash the biscuits and add the fruit and nuts.
- Melt chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a bowl over hot water.
- Mix together and squash into tin. Leave to cool, cut into 12 squares and then fridge for two hours.
